Movement Blog
My humble beginings.

My name is Emily D’Annunzio.  I am currently a graduate student at Columbia College Chicago studying dance/movement therapy and counseling. I am creating this blog because I hope to document a short video of dance improvisation each day.  This means that the movement captured in each video was not previously choreographed, or even previously meditated.  Instead, it is merely a series of bodily impulses that I respond to with movement.  I hope to post one each and every day, hopefully in varying environments.

Further, I believe in the power of creativity and each of these videos is me expressing myself creatively. The meaning or purpose of these videos is currently unknown to me.  They may possible serve as a comparison of my movement quality at the beginning of graduate school to the end of my studies.  If nothing else, they are merely me sharing my creative expression.  So many artists are able to do this because their art can be readily shared on the internet since they work with a visual medium to begin with.  This is not always the case of with movement.

So, here I go.
